Scott: Continued Oversight of Credit Conditions Important to Rural America

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Agriculture Committee’s Commodity Exchanges, Energy and Credit Subcommittee held a hearing to review credit conditions from the perspective of agricultural lenders. After the hearing, Subcommittee Ranking Member Austin Scott (GA-8) released the following remarks:

“Today’s hearing was an important continuation of our committee’s work reviewing credit conditions in rural America. Our farmers and ranchers produce the safest and most abundant supply of food and fiber for our nation and many around the world, but they can only continue to do that as long they have access to credit at competitive rates. I’m grateful to our witnesses today for all that they do to work with producers, and for taking the time to talk with us today,” said Subcommittee Ranking Member Scott.
